Casting director Kate is interviewing aspiring actress Ariel Anderssen for a film role. Ariel is doing her best to sound excited about the film project but Kate doesn’t seem to be really listening. “Strong female characters, right”. But what about being a victim of circumstance? The audition moves on to a much more practical stage – the character is going to get tied up, and Kate wants to see how Ariel acts in the circumstances. Out come the ropes! Kate binds Ariel to the chair, ankles tied behind her, ankles tied and ropes above and below the knee. How is Ariel’s damsel-in-distress acting? She struggles to make up lines, so Kate “kindly” gags her with a tape gag to avoid the need to talk. But does Kate have an ulterior motive for her bondage audition? Or is she just trying to provoke Ariel into giving a convincingly distressed performance?
