It’s a special occasion when I get to tie a new person. Although it is not a rare occurrence for me, it’s always a rather momentous event in my opinion. Through rope, it’s easy for me to feel like I get a good sense of a person – to get to know them in a pretty deep way quite quickly. Is this person naturally anxious or calm? Do they enjoy pushing themselves or do they want to feel comfortable? Are they good at expressing their feelings and communicating their needs with others? In my experience, these are the type of questions that are answered to some degree through rope. Although I did not know much about Ruby prior to tying them up, I certainly feel as though I witnessed their desire, willingness and ability to push their own physical boundaries. Ruby kicked ass in everything I threw at them! I started off by tying a hands-front chest harness and lifting one knee before using a flogger whip and eventually a cane on Ruby’s sensitive areas, such as their feet. Ruby was a champ in these things and that demonstrated to me that we are going to have a nice little ride together. After pulling Ruby up into the air, their very expressive face told me everything I needed to know about how they were doing. This is a great relief to me, and makes tying someone so much more fun, as I have a much better read on someone who is expressive in some way.
