She hopes to hear glowing praise of her thriller about an unlucky woman’s struggle to survive a home invasion by a ruthless criminal, but her editor thinks it needs some work, the biggest complaint being that it lacks substance and authenticity. After hanging up, a disappointed Sahrye moves to her laptop to see what improvements she can make when a man rushes in and grabs her. He binds her wrists and ankles, shoves 2 sponge discs and a hanky in her mouth, and seals a 4-inch strip of black electrical tape over her lips before going to look through her house. Amidst her struggles, Sahrye realizes this might be just what she needs to elevate her novel. She focuses on the moment, feeling the bite of the rope against her skin, the packing in her mouth causing her cheeks to bulge, the smell of the tape just below her nose, the feeling of helplessness as she writhes on her bed. Wanting to write down her thoughts, she wriggles to her laptop and attempts to clack away on her keyboard with her toes. Her captor puts a stop to this, thinking she’s trying to send a message for help. He takes her gag off to find out what she was doing and Sahrye tells him about her story and how she thinks this experience will help. He decides to help her more by adding a chest harness, filling her mouth with a big sponge sphere, and wrapping clear vinyl tape over her lips. More securely bound and muffled, Sahrye soaks in her situation, absorbing all little details. The man comes back and hogties her before he makes his escape. The restricted writer wriggles in the ropes and moans into her sponge-packed mouth. She’ll show her editor authenticity… just as soon as she can get out of this.
